"It's a world of laughter, a world of tears;
It's a world of hopes and a world of fears;
There's so much that we share,
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all!"
Today Alhamdulilah I had a great reunion with an old friend of mine.
The paths have taken us apart and time got us used to the distance.
Suna and I met 10 years ago in Baton Rouge, LA, we were friends the whole time I lived in Louisiana. It was a great friendship. Then the day came when my family decided to go back to Saudi Arabia, we had a sad farewell and hoped to keep in touch.
A year later my family and I moved back to LA, and Suna was gone. I asked her cousins they said she got married and moved to California. I was so sad but couldn't do anything about it, cause her cousin didn't know anything else about her.
Years went by, I moved to Arizona, got married and never thought that Suna's path would ever cross mine, but today it did.
In a very unexpected fashion I found my self talking to 2 ladies who were here visiting just for the weekend, the were asking me about life in AZ and Muslims here. During our conversation I mentioned the fact that I lived in Baton Rouge so the lady says oh, I have family in Baton Rouge from the family of (blank).
To my excitment I said oh my God I know the family (blank), I know this girl and that girl, and oh yeh my best friend was from that family but we parted after she got married, last I heard of her was that she had triplets. At that moment the lady I was talking to says pointing at the other lady from LA, " this is the only lady from the (blank) family that had triplets".
I looked at her and I just got tears in my eyes. IT WAS HER! 10 years later but it was her. I could'nt come close to her or hug her for a few moments until it registered in my head that this was SUNA my long lost friend :)
We huged and cried a little and then huged again. It was the best feeling in the world.
Subhan Allah, Allah just took a bk away from me and less than a week later found me my old friend. They dont replace each other but it diffenatly makes things easier.
I promise to not lose track of any of my friends (unless they want me to). and I promise I will not lost track of Suna again.
I love all my friends.
